Montana is known for its ruggedness, while its residents are known for their easygoing charm and understated confidence —qualities that also happen to describe Big Sky Country heartthrob Mark Estes. The 26 year old first made a splash on TikTok, where his mix of funny videos and lip-sync performances has attracted millions of views. Since then, he’s caught the eye of reality TV producers and made headlines with his private life, sparking a career in the limelight that doesn’t seem to be slowing down.
Born and raised in Montana, where the ranching life is ingrained in the culture, Estes loves to show off his cowboy lifestyle —often shirtless. He first rose to social media fame as one-third of The Montana Boyz, a group of former Montana Tech football players who began posting online as a joke.
Alongside friends Kaleb Campbell Winterburn and Kade Wilcox, the trio quickly gained notice from fans who took to their cowboy style and country music content. Currently, The Montana Boyz account on TikTok has over 1.1 million followers. One of the account’s earliest viral videos, posted in 2023, has now amassed over 7 million views.
Although a lot of his early content was focused on his life fishing, boating, and playing football, nowadays he’s often seen on red carpets (still donning the cowboy hat) or posing in front of a Ferrari. Still, fans can’t get enough, with comments on his Instagram ranging from adoration (“A king and his stallion,” wrote one fan) to more openly flirtatious reactions (“And all the cougars are purring.”)

After hitting it big on social media Estes was thrust into the spotlight once again when he was cast in the Fox TV show Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test. The reality show focuses on testing celebrities’ ability to withstand demanding military-style training exercises, and Estes used his real-life grit to make it to Episode 7 before being medically withdrawn.
Besides his massive TikTok footprint and a stint as a competitive reality TV star, Estes has also made headlines for his love life, beginning with his months-long relationship with reality TV personality Kristin Cavallari of MTV’s Laguna Beach fame. The couple met in Nashville, Tennessee, where Cavallari now resides, and although the two split after a few months, Estes and his romantic interests remain a popular tabloid headline. Earlier this year, he confirmed he was dating DJ and fellow content creator Sommer Ray.
While Estes’ athletic physique is certainly part of his sex appeal, followers seem just as drawn to his funny, down-to-earth demeanor. Whether he’s making videos with friends, appearing on reality television, or attracting tabloid attention, Estes is the all-American boy next door, and his Montana roots continue to resonate with fans.
