Material boy Marky Mark

[Long before Father Stu, he was a teen idol. Here’s a flashback to his ‘Marky Mark’ days.]

Looks like someone forgot to put on his Calvins for the camera. Hip-hop star Marky Mark—kid brother of New Kid on Block, Donnie Wahlberg—has been getting more than his share of press lately. After showing off his bod all over the country in Calvin Klein underwear ads, the publishing powers that be got so heated up, they put out a whole photo book called—surprise, surprise—Marky Mark (HarperPerennial, 1992).

With candid photographs snapped by celeb-grapher, Lynn Goldsmith, and anecdotes by the one and only, the book is a visual celebration of the 5’4″ poseur. And although Marky Mark does dedicate the book to his dick, he doesn’t go as far as to show it to us. If you’re looking for erotica, you’ll have to get off on his third nipple. Or these words of wisdom:

On safe sex:

“I’m in the AIDS generation. For the past four years I’ve been hearing nothing but ‘safe sex’ and these past four years have been my strong sex years. So, yeah, I’ve been safe, definitely, for the most part. My first girl, we did it without a condom once… twice. She was a virgin too. Out of all my friends, I’m the only one who doesn’t have a baby.”

On his third nipple:

“It’s cool. It’s unique. Not too many people have them, and it’s not hazardous to my health or anything. It’s not something to be ashamed about. It’s dope. And bitches like to suck it.”

On attention from older women and gay men:

“I think it’s an honor. You know, gay men are not my preference, so I’m not as excited as I am about the older women part of it, but people have their likes and dislikes and I respect everybody for that and if I make people happy and entertain them, then cool. But I don’t suck dick.”

On finding a mate:

“I’m not looking for a girl to throw herself at me. That’s not the woman that I want to spend my life with. There has to be a mutual respect, mutual love, mutual feelings. And the girl… I would have to be as quick to throw myself at her feet as she at mine.”
