Steve Rally first made contact with Playgirl after some old college girlfriends sent pictures into the magazine. He made such an impression on the editors that he became September 1984’s Man of the Month. He then made such an impression on readers that he became the 1985 Man of the Year. Steve remains one of Playgirl‘s most popular men ever. Since his first appearance readers have been fascinated by his 6’1” athletic body and the dark ringlets of hair that frame his soft brown eyes. But as those who have met him through his many personal appearances know, there is much more to Steve Rally than just incredible good looks —his soft-spoken intelligence never fails to charm everyone he meets.
Steve, at 30, has made the most of the opportunities being in Playgirl brought his way. He’s traveled throughout the world as an entertainer, owning and operating a Los Angeles-based male dance revue that performed in locations from Texas to Tokyo. “I feel very blessed to have been able to experience things many people never get to see,” he enthuses. But his success didn’t stop there. Steve had always hoped to pursue an acting career (“I thrive on public recognition and notoriety,” he told us back in 1984), and his hard work and talent paid off: First came appearances on such TV shows as Santa Barbara, The Young and the Restless and What’s Happening Now and then came the break every actor dreams of: a starring role as an undercover cop in the dramatic thriller Overkill which was released in the summer of 1987 (now available on Vista Home Video).
More satisfying than all these achievements, for Steve, is his success in his personal life. “I am at the point now where I’m looking for a stable relationship,” he told Playgirl in 1984. “The single scene is not terribly exciting anymore. I think I would enjoy steady partnering in which we’re best friends from the start. Then the rest will be easy.” Well, Steve has found that relationship. To the inevitable disappointment of his many fans, he’s been married for the last 2 1/2 years and now has a new woman in his life: His 16-month-old daughter Heather, who is naturally the apple of her daddy’s eyes. “I have never been happier,” Steve says contentedly. Does he have a philosophy of life to share with Playgirl readers? “Stay healthy, think positive and be persistent.” He runs his fingers through those curls and smiles. “And never quit dreaming…” If he had added, “… of Steve Rally,” we’re sure thousands of women would have agreed.
