More eye candy with Theo James and Vittoria Ceretti in the Dolce & Gabbana campaign for the brand’s Light Blue fragrances. Lensed by Gordon Von Steiner and art-directed by Kevin Tekinel and Charles Levai, the campaign pays tribute to the iconic 2007 ad shot by Mario Testino and featuring super-model David Gandy.

Well… ‘pays tribute’ may be a euphemism: Gandy starred in several variations and with several co-protagonists (Anna Jagodzinska, Maria Vujovic, Bianca Balti). Von Steiner’s “re-imagination” closely mirrors the one with Gandy and Balti. Same location: the “Faraglioni” (the sea stacks) by Capri. Same decoupage. Same swimsuit –People magazine calls it tiny, but, really, it’s the kind of brief you’d see everywhere in Italy. Same music: Bixio’s “Parlami d’amore Mariù,” covered by so many artists over the years, and here sung by Achille Togliani. A romantic Italian setting for the ‘remake’ of one of the sexiest ads of all time. How does it stack up against the original? And what about Theo James? Would you rather be kissed by him or Gandy?
